Who we are
Kraken Guard is a browser extension developed and operated by C Graham, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. If you have any questions about this privacy policy please contact us at krakenguardextension@gmail.com.
What data we collect
When you create a Kraken Guard account we collect:
- Your email address — used to identify your account
- Your password — stored as an encrypted hash, never in plain text
- Your blocklist entries — the accounts and keywords you choose to block
- Your active platform selection — which social media platform you have selected
- Your subscription plan — whether you are on the Free, Pro or Pro+ plan
We do not collect your real name, address, payment card details, browsing history, location or any other personal information. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your payment details.
How we use your data
We use your data solely to provide the Kraken Guard filtering service. Specifically:
- Your email and password are used to authenticate you when you log in
- Your blocklist is used to filter content on your chosen social media platforms
- Your subscription plan is used to determine which features you can access
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling or any purpose unrelated to providing the Kraken Guard service.
How your data is stored
Your data is stored securely on servers provided by Railway (railway.app). All data is stored in an encrypted database. Your password is never stored in plain text — it is converted to a secure hash before being saved.
Community suggestions feature
Pro+ users have access to the community suggestions feature. This shows accounts that have been blocked by multiple Kraken Guard users. This data is fully anonymised — no individual user is ever linked to a specific block. Only aggregate counts are used.
Your rights under UK GDPR
As a UK resident you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate data
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Object to how we process your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights please contact us at krakenguardextension@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
How to delete your account
To request deletion of your account and all associated data please email krakenguardextension@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete my account." We will permanently delete your data within 30 days of receiving your request.
Children's privacy
Kraken Guard is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data please contact us and we will delete it immediately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
